Adult Education

  • I've worked in adult education as a freelance tutor/teacher since 1980 in all areas of the post-compulsory education sector (community, further and higher ed', and in vocational/industry training)!
  • I teach ICT subjects (of all types), history, philosophy, science, politics, music history, management, gender issues, and I have a great deal of experience in teacher education from pre-entry to masters level.
  • I'm a fully qualified teacher (I have QTLS), and hold both an LCGI from the City & Guilds, and a first-class honours degree in further education. Since 1995 I have been General Secretary of the Association of Part-Time Tutors (a support group for contractual teachers in the post-compulsory sector) - I was also its founder. I have wide experience in curriculum design and accreditation.

I offer training events and short courses to individuals (including home tuition), groups and organisations, and can advise on curriculum or organisational issues.
